Over The Moon

Over The Moon is episode thirteen and the finale of the Appare-Ranman! anime series.

Plot[]

Al accompanied by Kosame, Hototo, Tristan, Jing, and Appare rush into Gil's church hideout. There they watch Chase get knocked out by Gil. After Al demands to know Sophia's whereabouts, but gets no straight answer. A flashback is shown where TJ and Dylan advises Al how to fight Gil. The group takes their advice into play and they all attack Dylan up close at once, but don't manage to get a scratch on the outlaw. During the skirmish, Tristan rescues Chase and Seth. Chase then informs the group that Sophia is on the train and Gil confirms it. He goes onto detail his plan to use the train to blow up the Chicago Station and Sophia is on the said train too. Outraged the group once again try and take out Gil only to all be taken out by the man. Grabbing Appare by the throat, Gil gloats about how he overpowered the group, but Appare smiles as Gil fell for his trap. Just then, a signal flare hits Gil's back. This buys enough time for TJ and Dylan to arrive and challenge Gil.

The Appare and the rest of the racers then return to their cars to pursue the train heading for Chicago, while TJ and Dylan begin their fight against Gil. On the racers' side, they all manage to take out Gil's henchmen, but the train is still on the route toward Chicago Station. It's thanks to Appare's car, that the train finally manages to stop and they rescue Sophia. Over on TJ and Dylan's side, their fight against Gil turns out to be an arduous one as Gill consistently has the upper hand on the men. However, in the end, the two manage to work together and defeat Gil and instead of killing him, they chose to have him arrested.

One month later, the race continues and the racers are in New York City, where it's a four-way tie between TJ, Al, Dylan, and Jing. As the four racers close in on the finish line, Appare uses the emergency booster to help gain speed and close the gap between the cars in the lead. Because of this and some help with Kosame helping shift the car in the corner turn, the car takes the lead and wins the race.

Sometime after the race, Appare and Hototo see Al and Sophia off, and Al offers Appare to come with him, but he refuses. Appare plans to build an airplane now after crafting a boat and then a car. At that moment, Kosame informs Appare that he's found a boat back to Japan, but Appare plans to stay in the USA with Hototo. Afterward, Kosame learns from Jing that she's going to return to L.A. and become a full-fledged racer thanks to the approval of her boss.

When the boat to Japan takes off Appare calls out to Kosame who says that he misses him and doesn't want him to leave, only to find out he didn't' take it. Instead, Kosame wrote a letter to his family and figures that his sister can live without him and that his fiancee has found someone else. With that in mind, the two prepare for their next endeavor of creating an airplane.

In Japan, Kosame's letter is received by his sister with a newspaper clipping of how Appare won the race.
