Richard Riesman (リチャード・リースマン, Richādo Rīsuman) also known as Gil T. Cigar (ギル・T・シガー, Giru T Shigā) is a character in the Appare-Ranman! anime.
Appearance[]
Richard has scruffy ash white hair and a cross-shaped scar on the right side of his face, which the vertical part stretches out past his face. He wears a black outfit over a pink dress shirt.
Personality[]
Initially, Richard comes off as a polite and mild-mannered individual, however, this is a part of his duplicitous nature. He's really a cold-blooded and heartless killer. He believes the true power is bringing death and despair to others, other than himself.
He's incredibly talented at violence and intimidation, and therefore he deserves to rule the otherwise-ungoverned parts of America in accordance with his hedonistic whims. Unfortunately for everyone else, he really is good enough to pull it off.
His murderous behavior is not limited to the racers. He shoots a goon in cold blood for stepping out of line and treats Dylan and TJ as traitors for taking part in the race. Not even his elite squad are safe as he kills one of them for not slaughtering the protagonists when they storm his hideout and letting Chase find out his exact whereabouts. That said there are a few who seem to be genuinely loyal to him, even dying for his name.
He's a man with a black heart. A legendary heartless and ruthless outlaw that is willing to kill anyone and destroy anything in his path to get what he wants, even those who work with him.
His methods are akin to terrorism, as in episode 12, he and his gang plan on setting off bombs in Chicago to spread his fear and terror to the world stage.
Though despite being talent and claiming he'll get the best of everyone, he didn't predict Appare to stop the train and stop the bombing. At this one loss, it is shown he's a sore loser, as he doesn't take his defeat by TJ and Dylan kindly and furiously threatens everyone before getting sent to jail. Though a month later, this hasn't come to pass, as he might have been executed or was sentenced to hard life labor in jail.
